Crack Wicking 70 Minute Epoxy Resin (4 x 4 Litre Kit = 16 litres or 4.22 gal of resin) General Product Description: "Crack Wicking 70 Minute Epoxy Resin" is capable of wicking into cracks greater than 0.1 mm (4 thou) in thickness without the aid of pressure. It is a modified two-component 100% solids epoxy.
Use "Crack Wicking 70 Minute Epoxy Resin" is used to structurally repair and waterproof cracked concrete. It is a unique product that is 'drawn into' cracks without the use of pressure. This is especially useful where a large area of cracking is present and pressure injecting is impractical. "Crack Wicking 70 Minute Epoxy Resin" will also consolidate and strengthen the top surface of the concrete.

Minimum Application Temperature "Crack Wicking 70 Minute Epoxy Resin" should not be applied below 0°C as full physical properties may not be reached and poor flow will be experienced.
Moisture Sensitivity "Crack Wicking 70 Minute Epoxy Resin" works well in dry or damp cracks, but is incapable of displacing excess water. Every effort should be made to keep area as dry as possible.
Physical Testing Compressive strength 51 MPa Tensile strength 39 MPa
Surface Preparation In order for proper penetration of "Crack Wicking 70 Minute Epoxy Resin", the mouth of the crack cannot be plugged with foreign material. It is also good practice to clean the surface areas around the cracks to be treated, as this will aid in allowing the material to flow to the cracks.
Mixing & Application Pour contents of "B" into "A" and mix well with a low speed mixer (200-300 rpm) until one even colour develops. Be sure to scrape sides and bottom of container. For treating isolated cracks, it is recommended to dam around the crack (1/2" on either side) and fill the reservoir. Hot wax from a glue gun is a quick and simple method of doing this, as is standard caulking material. The reservoir should be kept full until the material cures. Reservoirs can also be created by drilling holes, 1.25cm. in diameter at 30 to 45 cm. intervals into the cracks. Where a large number of cracks exist in a small area the best method of application is to flood the area and squeegee the resin into the cracks.
Clean Up Use appropriate "Cleaning Solvent". CAUTION - Solvent is flammable so there must be no open lights, flames, sparking motors or pilot lights in the vicinity. Smoking near the solvent is to be forbidden. All equipment must be cleaned immediately after use.
Safety and Toxicity Two-component epoxy systems are capable of producing severe injury to, or destruction of, skin and eye tissues. They are classified as corrosive for shipping purposes. Precautions must be taken to prevent prolonged or repeated skin contact and it is essential to protect the eyes from splashes. Protective clothing, rubber gloves and chemical goggles should be worn when working with these products. Some people become sensitized when working with epoxy resin systems. The sensitization may appear in the form of skin or respiratory reactions. Avoid breathing vapours, particularly if these products are used in a confined area. Face mask with respirator #1224 is usually adequate. Air supplied mask is suitable for use in confined areas.
Storage Store in heated area and on pallets. Do not allow product to freeze. Shelf life in unopened containers is two years.
Packaging Packaged in 4 litre units, 4 units per carton = 16 litres of mixed product. Each container is clearly marked with product name, component designation ("A" or "B"), manufacturer's name, batch number and ratio of component mixtures.
Warranty Manufacturer WARRANTS that the product conforms to its chemical description and is reasonably fit for the purpose stated on its Technical Bulletin when used in accordance with its directions.
