DESCRIPTION
CPD ® Acrylic Cure & Seal (Silane) is a solvent based acrylic curing and sealing compound for new and existing exterior concrete that also contains silane. It is designed to cure new concrete in accordance with ASTM C-309 requirements and to help protect concrete from deterioration due to the intrusion of water, salts and deicing chemicals in a single “ONE STEP” application. Conventional silane application involves costly removal of curing compounds prior to applying or time consuming wet curing of concrete.
WHERE TO USE
CPD ® Acrylic Cure and Seal (Silane) can be used on all exterior concrete whether new or old. Areas of application are, but not limited to stamped, colored concrete, concrete sidewalks, elevated decks, and parking garage floors.
BENEFITS
• effectively cures new concrete • helps to protect concrete by forming an effective chloride ion screen
• helps to prevent concrete scaling and spalling
• UV stabilizers in product prevent yellowing
• improves uniformity and depth of color in colored c oncrete flatwork.
• effective on both horizontal and vertical surfaces
APPLICATION
SURFACE PREPARATION
Thoroughly mix prior to using. The product is packaged ready to use - do not dilute with solvent or water. Application can be done using a long nap roller but spray application is recommended for stamped concrete. Prior to using sprayer assure it is clean and dry. Use a low pressure sprayer with seals and hoses resistant to xylene solvent.
OLD CONCRETE
Clean thoroughly with concrete compatible detergent (such as Sure Klean) and high pressure water removing all oil, grease, dust and any other foreign material. Allow to dry then apply product at the recommended coverage rates listed.
NEW CONCRETE
Apply a minimum of 3 hours after the concrete has received final finishing and all surface water has dissipated. Apply uniformly in a single saturating application leaving no puddles, pinholes or gaps.
STAMPED CONCRETE
Powerwash, scrub and flush away all release and powder from surface. Allow to surface dry prior to application for best results. Apply in a single uniform application at the recommended coverage rate. The next day application of a second coat is highly recommended for maximum protection and uniform finish.
Drying time at 21° C (70°F) and 50% R.H. is:
• Dry to touch – 1 Hour
• Foot Traffic – 8 Hours
• Vehicle Traffic – 18-24 Hours
Prior to application verify rain free weather for a 24 hour period after application of each coat.
LIMITATIONS
• not for interior concrete floors with a hard steel trowel finish
• do not use on concrete to receive carpet, tile, paint or other bonded overlays
• do not apply below 10°C (50°F)
• not for use as a solvent/chemical resistant sealer
• do not use on carbonated concrete
