I am wondering if Blue Seal would work as the waterproofing component of a tile countertop instead of cementitious backerboard. Would tinset mortar stick to the Blue Seal if applied on top of it? Thanks for your opinion! I will take comments back to my tile supplier.

I can't really respond to this question because it would require some actual testing and approval by the manufacturer.
